Karen Martinez | Chief Executive Officer
Karen is a second-generation ASPM shareholder. As chief executive officer of ASPM’s executive team, she oversees a staff of over 80 personnel and eight divisions, and serves as the Finance Division Manager. With years of experience in the property management industry as a community manager and supervisor at ASPM, Karen assumed leadership of the company from her parents, ASPM founders Bill and Edith Howe. She has a keen eye for problem-solving, and her standards in demanding exceptional customer service from her staff are key factors in the growth and success of ASPM. Karen’s career began in retail, direct sales, and self-starter business ventures. She groomed her customer service skills by working in a variety of service-related disciplines and adopting their best practices. Karen holds the designations of CCAM and CAMEx through the California Community Association of Managers and is a member of the Community Associations Institute.
Steve Howe | Chief Operations Officer
Steve is a second-generation ASPM shareholder with entrepreneurial business experience that spans over 45 years in domestic and overseas markets. Steve joined ASPM’s executive team in 2013 to take on the newly created chief operations and construction management roles. He brings significant experience to the property management industry. As a principal and founder of NuFlow America, Inc., an international infrastructure rehabilitation company, Steve regularly interacted with homeowner associations and directed numerous multi-million-dollar construction and infrastructure repair projects nationally. His entrepreneurial ambitions began with Items International, Inc., parent company of an international entity better known today as Airwalk. Steve was a central player in the conception, design, manufacture, distribution and sales domestically and internationally of the popular skateboard shoe. His expertise has contributed to industries that include General Motors’ Chevrolet Commercial Fleet Division and in infrastructure rehabilitation industries.
Suzanne Howe | Chief Marketing Officer
A second-generation ASPM shareholder, Suzanne joined ASPM’s executive team in 2014 to take on the newly created chief marketing role in ASPM’s executive team. Suzanne creates ASPM’s marketing vision by applying her experience in marketing strategy in domestic and international markets. Suzanne oversees the management of ASPM’s brand, website design and content, including consumer insights, digital marketing, creative development, social media, content and article writing, and marketing analytics. Suzanne worked for over 30 years in the HOA property management industry and as a civil litigation trial paralegal. Her experience in the broader marketing industry began as a technical content writer and marketing strategist. Suzanne is a U.S. Navy Veteran and earned her Paralegal certification from the University of San Diego in 1984.
Jorge Martinez | Escrow Division Manager
Jorge is a second-generation ASPM shareholder and is the Escrow Division Manager of ASPM’s executive team. Jorge oversees all aspects of customer property transaction assistance. With considerable experience in the property management industry, Jorge’s executive team leadership encompasses all aspects of key knowledge of all divisional operations. Jorge’s career began in marketing and advertising in the Los Angeles market, where worked at major advertising and public relations agencies, and in television ad sales. The key to his success in all was his strong focus on excellent customer service. Jorge’s bilingual abilities and service-oriented approach to problem-solving are major assets to ASPM.
